Romance Was Born meets Marvel Comics

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week started off to a colourful start this morning kicking off the first show of the week with Romance Was Born. The collection was inspired by comic Superheros of the 60s and the comic book art of Jack Kirby.

While the theme was surreal, the execution was amazing - resulting in quirky, yet wearable pieces. Who would have thought possible!

They partnered with Marvel Comics and the RWB design duo (Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales) have managed to turn a collaboration that wasn’t fashion or beauty related into a stunningly beautiful and innovative collection without being an obvious plug to the brand. Genius!

The simple, sophisticated, yet pop-up graphic backdrop created a change to the extravagance from past collections and they managed to avoid the theme turning tacky and cartoonish. The collection featured mixed textures, cinched waists, full hips and strong shoulders. The fire red flame hair was created by the talented Alan White and we thought it added a nice final touch.

Really, who doesn’t secretly wish they were a Superhero...
We can't wait to see what the rest of the week will bring.

Margherita Missoni... A fashionable life.

Ever wondered how some of the world’s most stylish people live?

29-year-old Model and aspiring actress Margherita Missoni (heiress to the Missoni fashion house) opens her luxurious Milan apartment to photographer Dylan Don for the website ‘Lifestyle Mirror’.

Decked out in a mishmash of prints and of course incorporating Missoni Home textiles... We just love how her apartment is full of organised clutter and personality. We also love that Margherita's wardrobe looks like a luxe market stall. Oooh to have a wardrobe like that...

Style Watch: Michelle Harper

Michelle Harper, who is she you say? She is the incredibly stylish philanthropist and businesswoman who serves on the board of directors for FIT’s Couture Council, Tata Harper Beauty and Casita Maria. She is also a prominent fixture on the New York scene.
We came across an image of her wearing the Karen Walker cat sunglasses (the same ones we have at Pink) at Paris Fashion Week, and well, we instantly fell in love with her style.
Michelle was born in Columbia, but grew up in New York and Europe and credits her sense of style to her grandmother, whose own father often sent her to Paris to shop at Dior and Balenciaga. This is why she LOVES fashion. What a dream!

Quoted as saying... "Use style as a means of personal expression and improvement. It should never make you feel bad like you don't have enough, or you're not on trend enough, that you're not good enough. Fashion should make you feel strong, happy and good."
